New Features
- [Admin] Ability to assign multiple roles to users and for users with multiple roles to switch between those roles, e.g. users may now switch between reviewer and proctor roles.
The screenshot below shows the new column named “Roles” on the Manage Users page, where you can view the roles assigned to a user and select/deselect roles for each user.
Note that "Role" column only shows the currently active role per user.
Only compatible roles can be combined, please refer to the grouping of roles below: - superuser (only other superusers can see/select this role)
- administrator, teacher, proctor, reviewer (only admins and superusers can see/select these roles; teachers only see the teacher role)
- global_proctor, global_reviewer (only superusers can select these roles)
- auditor (only admins and superusers can see/select this role)
When you are logged in as a user with multiple roles assigned, you will see a new menu item in the top right menu where you can switch between the available roles. See the screenshot below:
The main goal of this feature is to allow a smooth migration to start using SSO, where only one account per user is permitted and a workaround to create multiple accounts for the same user isn’t possible.
