Activating/Deactivating the Webcam
Mac computers and displays come equipped with a built-in FaceTime or FaceTime HD camera positioned near the upper edge of the screen.
Activating the camera: Launch an application or enable a feature on your Mac that requires camera usage. A green light adjacent to the camera illuminates, signalling that the camera is active.
Deactivating the camera: Close or exit all applications or disable any features that utilize the camera on your Mac. The green light next to the camera extinguishes, indicating that the camera is no longer operational.
Control access to your webcam on Mac
Use the following settings to select which applications are allowed to use the camera on your Mac. You will be required to give access of your camera to Google Chrome to use ProctorExam.
1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu then select System Preferences:
2. Click Security & Privacy.
3. Then click Camera.
4. Select the tick box next to Google Chrome to allow it to access your camera.
5. Select Quit & Reopen to finalise the changes.
Please Note:
- Deselecting the tick box will turn off the access for that app.
- If you turn off access for an app, you’re asked to turn it on again the next time that app tries to use your camera.
