Provisioning Users to login using an IdP

On the IdP Side

• Objective: Configure your Identity Provider to enable user authentication with ProctorExam.
• Steps: Follow your IdP's specific instructions for allowing user(s) to authenticate with the ProctorExam service provider (see details below)

In your ProctorExam environment 

• Adding a new user via the Administration UI
  • Steps:
    • Login to ProctorExam as an Administrator or Superuser
    • Switch to the desired Institute
    • Open the Settings page and navigate to the “Manage users” tab.
    • Enter the user's name and IdP email address.
    • Select the appropriate role for the user.
    • From the “Auth Method” dropdown, select a pre-configured Identity Provider.
    • Click "Add user" to create the user
  • An invitation email will be automatically sent to the user to login to ProctorExam using the IdP.

• Switching Existing Users to IdP Authentication using the Administration UI
  • Login to ProctorExam as an Administrator or Superuser
  • Open the Settings page and navigate to the “Manage users” tab.
  • Locate the user and use the "Auth Method" dropdown to select the desired IdP
