Configuring a New Identity Provider in ProctorExam
- Objective: Securely access your ProctorExam instance with superuser privileges.
- Steps:
- Navigate to your ProctorExam environment URL (<environment>.proctorexam.com).
- Log in with your superuser account
- Open the settings page, then find and select the "Identity Providers" tab.
Add a New Identity Provider
- Objective: Create a new SAML2 Identity Provider configuration.
- Steps:
- Click on the “Add Identity Provider” button.
- In the form that appears, fill in the following fields:

Name: Enter a unique name for the Identity Provider within ProctorExam.

Issuer: Input the issuer URL (e.g., https://proctorexam.com).

Target URL: Provide the URL where SAML authentication requests should be sent.

Certificate: Paste the public key certificate used for signing SAML assertions. This certificate will be stored in encrypted format.

Certificate Fingerprint: Enter the SHA-1 or SHA-256 hash of the public key certificate.
- Review the information and click “Save” to confirm the configuration.
- NOTE: All IdP’s configured on the “Identity Providers” page are available to users across all institutions on the given environment.
