Configuring a New Identity Provider in ProctorExam

• Objective: Securely access your ProctorExam instance with superuser privileges.
• Steps:
  • Navigate to your ProctorExam environment URL (<environment>.proctorexam.com).
  • Log in with your superuser account 
  • Open the settings page, then find and select the "Identity Providers" tab.

Add a New Identity Provider

• Objective: Create a new SAML2 Identity Provider configuration.
• Steps:
  • Click on the “Add Identity Provider” button.
  • In the form that appears, fill in the following fields:
    • Name: Enter a unique name for the Identity Provider within ProctorExam.
    • Issuer: Input the issuer URL (e.g., https://proctorexam.com).
    • Target URL: Provide the URL where SAML authentication requests should be sent.
    • Certificate: Paste the public key certificate used for signing SAML assertions. This certificate will be stored in encrypted format.
    • Certificate Fingerprint: Enter the SHA-1 or SHA-256 hash of the public key certificate.
  • Review the information and click “Save” to confirm the configuration.

• NOTE: All IdP’s configured on the “Identity Providers” page are available to users across all institutions on the given environment.
