Step 1: Choose Exam Type
Begin by selecting the Exam Type that fits your requirements:

Classroom: Use this type to only record the candidates screen.

Record and review: Opt for this type if recordings of the exam session will be reviewed post-examination.

Live proctoring: Choose this if you want real-time monitoring of the exam.
Step 2: Enter Basic Information
Under the Basic information section, you will provide the exam details:

Exam name: Enter the name of your exam as it should appear within ProctorExam.

Activity to proctor: Here, select the specific LMS activity that will be proctored, such as a quiz, assignment, or uploaded file. When an activity is selected, a direct link to that activity will be provided to candidates in the individual instructions panel on the exam session screen.

If you choose not to link to an activity, select 'No activity.' You may then add your own exam instructions.
Step 3: Scheduling the Exam

Mandatory first start time: This should be set according to the corresponding Moodle activity.

Optional last start time: Set this if there is a specific window in which the exam can be started.

Optional exam duration: Enable and specify the length of the exam in minutes for a countdown timer to be displayed during the exam.
Step 4: Additional Settings
Adjust the settings to meet your exam's requirements:

Enable Mobile camera is required if the candidate must use their mobile device as a second camera (not available for classroom exams).

Student must upload exam files: Toggle this if students need to submit files.

Enable global reviewing/proctoring: To submit this session to the global reviewing queue/global proctoring.

Do not require system check: Enable this if a system check prior to the exam is optional for candidates.
Step 5: Locale

Choose exam language: Select the language for the candidate experience.
Step 6: Admin Controls

Use Delete Exam to permanently delete the exam from the system.

Close Exam to set the exam status to closed. Candidates will not be able to take any further sessions on this exam.
Step 7: Reviewer Instructions

Submit exam for review: Check this option if the exam should be sent to the reviewing queue.
Step 8: Configure Exam Rules
Specify what is permissible during the exam:

Toggle on/off allowances for the internet, external applications, textbooks, pen and paper, calculators, and additional materials.
Step 9: Student Instructions

In the Additional information field, enter any further directions for candidates.

Upload any exam documents that should be made available for the candidates to download.

Toggle and enter test password if candidates should be provided with a specific password once they have completed proctoring setup.
Final Step: Review and Save
Before activating the exam, review all settings to ensure they meet the exam requirements. After confirmation, save the exam settings. The configured exam is now ready for candidates to begin their proctored session in accordance with the scheduled times and rules you have set.
