Introduction

ProctorExam is excited to announce the launch of our enhanced integration solution for exam organisers who deliver secure testing via the worlds leading Learning Management Systems (LMS)

WHAT:

An LTI 1.3 external tool provider that allows exam organisers to configure proctoring directly from within their LMS course on Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas.

Requirements

• A Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas instance that supports LTI 1.3
• In order to setup LTI 1.3 at least 1 administrator account must exist at https://ENV_NAME.proctorexam.com
• To use the tool, the user signed in the LMS must have at least one of admin, manager, teacher or instructor roles. Role names may slightly differ depending on the LMS.
• LMS users (teachers for example)  do not need to exist or be pre-registered at https://ENV_NAME.proctorexam.com. But if the LMS user has an account at https://ENV_NAME.proctorexam.com with the same email that they are using in the LMS, then the user account at https://ENV_NAME.proctorexam.com must have either teacher, admin or superuser role.

Use Cases

• LMS Administrators:

  • Tool Onboarding in LMS

    • Register ProctorExam as an LTI 1.3 external tool provider via either Dynamic or Manual registration.

• Exam Organizers (Teachers):

  • Proctoring Configuration:

    • Select LMS course activities (Quiz, Assignment, File upload) for proctoring.

    • Choice to enforce system check before students can start a proctored test.

    • Upload exam documents directly to ProctorExam.

    • Set access restrictions for proctored activities via a password.

  • Exam Settings:

    • Determine the type of proctoring: Classroom, Record and Review, or Live Proctoring.

    • Schedule exams with mandatory start times, optional end times, and durations.

    • Enable/disable additional settings like mobile camera requirements or system checks.

    • Choose exam language and provide specific exam and reviewer instructions.

• Exam Takers (Students):

  • Enrolled students can take a proctored exam from the LMS course page

    • Complete a mandatory system check before starting the exam.

    • Access and launch the proctored exam at the scheduled time.
